Cherry Smoothie
2 cups frozen tart cherries
1 ripe banana, peeled
1 cup cherry juice blend (or other juice)
Put frozen cherries, banana and cherry juice blend in container of electric blender or food processor. Puree until smooth. Serve immediately.
Makes 4 cups; 4 (8-ounce) servings.
Cherry Ice Cream Smoothie
1 cup frozen tart cherries
1/2 cup cherry juice blend
1 cup vanilla ice cream
Put frozen cherries and cherry juice blend in container of electric blender or food processor. Puree until almost smooth. Add ice cream one third at a time; blend well after each addition. Serve immediately. Makes 2 cups; 2 (8-ounce) servings.
Cherry Yogurt Smoothie
1 cup non-fat plain or vanilla yogurt
1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup tart cherry juice concentrate
1 cup crushed ice
Put yogurt, banana, orange juice, cherry juice concentrate and crushed ice in the container of an electric blender or food processor. Puree until smooth. Serve immediately. Makes 2 (8-ounce) servings.
Note: This smoothie can be frozen in popsicle containers. Serve as a frozen treat, or allow to thaw and drink as a smoothie.
