The Early Years 2

John and Betsy have always worked side by side developing the orignal home farm. Building up and running the fruit stand business has been Betsy's passion over the years, and the cash inflow has been an important factor in the growth of the farm.

John handles the tree management and crew supervision, but many farm chores like trimming and planting new trees, is a family operation and everybody pitches in.

The Big Snow

The farm was buried in a monster snow storm in January 1982.

The snow completely buried the car up over the roofline. Here Betsy has cleared the snow away from one side.

The Antrim county road commission plow works it way past the farm on M-88.

Snow blew in through every crack during the storm and piled up in the barn covering everything.
